PETER W. BENNETT
Peter was born and raised in Edmonds, Washington, where he graduated from Edmonds High School. He went to Washington State University and graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Minor in English. Peter attended law school at Washburn University of Topeka, Kansas, where he graduated in 1984 with honors (cum laude).
After returning from law school, Peter worked for an insurance defense firm in Seattle for a year and a half, and then went to work with this father, a longtime local Edmonds attorney, Chester R. Bennett. Upon the unfortunate and untimely death of his father, Chester, in March of 1988, Peter and his brother Leigh continued to carry on the practice as a partnership.
Peter is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Snohomish County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in all Washington Courts including the U.S. District Court of Western Washington. As a private attorney, since 1984, he has experience in many areas, however now practices primarily in the areas of: Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts, Probate, Trust Administration, Elder Law Concerns, Real Estate (Commercial and Residential), Contracts, Land Use and Small Business.
Outside of the law practice, Peter has been active in the community, having served on many local boards, committees and other related activities, such as, Sno-King Youth Soccer Coach, Pacific Little League Board and Coach, Edmonds Arts Festival Museum Board, Lambda Chi Alpha (WSU) Alumni Board, Ski Instructor for Clancy's Ski School at Steven's Pass and working with the Edmonds Woodway High School Jazz program and Baseball program. Peter's personal interests include, his family, windsurfing, skiing, golfing, hiking, mountain climbing and fishing. Peter is married and has one daughter and three sons.
